Happy 2010 with Love from Elmo

I hope that your holidays were as wonderful as they were in my household. The loads of plastic, noise-making, batteries-required toys were dull in comparison to my daughter’s simple Elmo doll (No she did not get the annoying Talking Elmo – thank gawd!).
As far as I know she has no reference of who Elmo is. We don’t watch Sesame Street or have Elmo books. Yet, she is obsessed!
I have never heard her squeal with such joy as when she tore off the wrapping paper to reveal a fuzzy red animal with googly eyes. Kids must simply be born with an ‘Elmo gene’! The love she has for Elmo is precious.
