She looks like me??

Now I know most mom’s would not be surprised when a friend tells them that their baby looks like them. But you see my baby has a “bio daddy”.

My partner gave birth to our daughter 8 months ago. We did “order” up a daddy that looked like me but you never know if what they say on the form is true. He did say he was handsome… but don’t we all think we look good?? Especially after watching sexy movies at a sperm bank??

My partner is a gorgeous tan Latina with brown eyes while I am a pale skinned green eyed girl. Looks like our girl is going to need SPF 50 for the rest of her life just like me!

Picking out the bio dad

Most of you out there probably have a baby daddy in mind because you married them in front of 200 of your closet friends. My partner and I got to choose ours from a three-ring binder. It was a fascinating experiment into what we were looking for.

At the sperm banks they have a wide range of info on each donor father, from physical attributes to what drugs they took. We ended up choosing someone who was Jewish, brown hair, green eyes and neurotic. Just like me.

This whole process was fascinating. It is like going into a fast-food restaurant ordering what you want and hoping for the best. You get to read about all the physical attributes of the biological daddy and their immediate family.

They also tell you about all the medical issues everyone had. As some point I felt a little dirty. Like I was reading someone’s diary entry.

Picking up the bio daddy

I love the picture I get to show my daughter of her daddy. It is a gorgeous tank.

You see, the sperm was stored in a container with that cool freezing mix. When I went to pick up the goods, I couldn’t help but giggle as I carried this HUGE tank to my car. I of course put it in the front seat with the seat belt on it. I drove in the carpool lane… I mean there were two of us.
